METAMORPHOSIS

Teaser:

Anna was not your typical high school girl. She has two identities: 1. A drop dead gorgeous woman that most people adored in the morning. 2. A nerdy and boyish person at night. Anna was bullied when she was in middle school because of her appearance which is she had only one eyelid, acne's all around her face, hair that's always tied up in a pony tail, an oversized t-shirt, converse shoes, and huge pants. No wonder why many people despised her looks. Everybody think that she's ugly enough not to fit in into their definition of beauty. No body befriended her, not until she graduated middle school. Anna spent her whole summer on practicing how to make up. This is her own solution for her to be noticed by her peers. Anna decided to change her wardrobe into a much more girly clothes. Nobody knew about this except her family.

On her first day of school,  Anna became a talk of the school. Many people noticed her looks but neither of them remembered the Anna that the despised. She became popular in an instant, also gained some friends, and not to mention admirers. After school, she went home, removed her make up, and went outside to buy some of her favorite comic books in her favorite comic store. There she met this handsome hot guy who coincidentally got the book that she likes. But then again the hot guy turned out to be a jerk and that day she got to know his name and his name is Drew.

Anna then realized that Drew goes to the same school as her, same section, and became her own personal tutor. Will Drew know about Anna's secret identity? Which Anna will Drew learn to love? Do hearts really know what it wants? Does physical appearance matter when two hearts collide?

COCO

Image result for coco family
  • In Santa Cecilia, Mexico, Imelda Rivera was the wife of a musician who left her and their 3-year-old daughter Coco, to pursue a career in music. She banned music in the family and opened a shoe-making family business. Ninety-six years later, her great-great-grandson, 12-year-old Miguel, now lives with Coco and their family. He secretly dreams of becoming a musician like Ernesto de la Cruz, a popular actor and singer of Coco's generation. One day, Miguel inadvertently damages the photo of Coco with her parents at the center of the family ofrenda and removes it, discovering that his great-great-grandfather was holding Ernesto's famous guitar.

  • Concluding that Ernesto is his great-great-grandfather, Miguel ignores his grandmother Elena's objections and leaves to enter a talent show for the Day of the Dead. He enters Ernesto's mausoleum and steals his guitar to use in the show, but becomes invisible to everyone in the village plaza. However, he can see and be seen by his skeletal dead relatives who are visiting from the Land of the Dead for the holiday. Taking him there, they realize that Imelda cannot visit as Miguel removed her photo from the ofrenda. Discovering that he is cursed for stealing from the dead, Miguel must return to the Land of the Living before sunrise or he will become one of the dead: to do so, he must receive a blessing from a member of his family using an Aztec marigold petal that can undo the curse placed upon him by stealing Ernesto's guitar.
  • Miguel encounters Héctor, a down-on-his-luck skeleton who once played with Ernesto and offers to help Miguel reach him. In return, Héctor asks Miguel to take his photo back to the Land of the Living so he can visit his daughter before she forgets him and he disappears completely. Héctor attempts to return Miguel to his relatives, but Miguel escapes and infiltrates Ernesto's mansion, learning along the way that an old friendship between the two deteriorated before Héctor's death. Miguel soon realizes that Ernesto murdered Héctor using a poisoned drink and stole the songs he had written, passing them off as his own to become famous.

Miguel realizes that Héctor is his actual great-great-grandfather and that Coco is Héctor's daughter, the only living person who still remembers him. With the help of Dante - who turns into an alebrije - the dead Riveras find and rescue them. Miguel reveals that Héctor's decision to return home to her and Coco resulted in his death, and Imelda and Héctor reconcile. They infiltrate Ernesto's sunrise concert to retrieve Héctor's photo from Ernesto and expose his crimes. Ernesto is crushed by a falling church bell as in his previous life, but the photo falls into the water and disappears.

As the sun rises, Héctor is in danger of being forgotten by Coco and disappearing. Imelda blesses Miguel with no conditions attached so he can return to the Land of the Living, where he plays a song for Coco that Héctor wrote for her during her childhood. The song sparks her memory of Héctor and revitalizes her, and she gives Miguel the torn-out piece of the photo from the ofrenda, which shows Héctor's face. Elena reconciles with Miguel, accepting both him and music back into the family.

One year later, Miguel proudly presents the family ofrenda - featuring a photo of the now deceased Coco and the restored photo of Héctor and Imelda - to his new baby sister. Letters kept by Coco contain evidence that Ernesto stole Héctor's songs. As a result, Ernesto's legacy is destroyed and the community honors Héctor instead. In the Land of the Dead, Héctor and Imelda join Coco for a visit to the living Riveras as Miguel sings and plays for his dead and living relatives.
This movie was entitled COCO named after Miguel (main character) grandmother named Coco. My favorite character in this movie was Miguel. He was a typical mexican boy who loves music and dreams to be a musician, but due to his families belief and objections he wasn't able do so. Miguel was very dedicated to change the views of his family about musicians and made a way for him to just perform on the talent show despite of the consequence on stealing something from the dead. He was very strong and brave in facing all the challenges that was happening in his journey in the land of the dead. A heroic kid that managed to bring back his dead relatives together.

Just like Miguel I want to pursue some of my goals in life. But because of my family's traditions and belief, I wasn't able to do the things that I want. This movie gave me eagerness to reach for my dreams and grab the opportunities that I have while I'm still alive. Also this movie made me think that despite of all the challenges that you may face, your family is still there for you. Always face the consequences of your mistake because it has a  good result in the later future. The very moral lesson that I was able to learn in this movie was Family matters. Being born as a Filipino, it was very rare for us to spend time with our family. It seems hard opening up to your family about your feelings, perspectives. This movie made me encourage to speak my thoughts, at the same way showing respect to them. In this it will stronger your bond to everyone in your family.

If I were to improve the plot/ character in this movie, I would want Coco to be the main character. I want to know her side when his father left their family and how she's feeling for the past ninety six years without her father on her side. Also I was a bit cliff-hanger on Imelda's point of view after Hector left them to pursue his music career. But overall this movie made me cry several times and this movie left my heart soft, moral values that will always remain in me that I can also apply to my personal life.
